Increased investment in Shanghai R&D Centre
Broadex Technologies (Shenzhen Stock Exchange 300548), a leading provider of optoelectronic components to the telecom and datacom markets, today announced the further investment of 19 million yuan in its wholly-owned subsidiary Broadex Silicon Technologies (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Broadex Silicon") to further strengthen its research and development in Silicon Photonics technology.
The Broadex Silicon facility was established in November 2017 to focus on the development of Silicon Photonics-based high-speed optical transceiver modules. Today’s announcement will bring the total investment to 29 million yuan.
“The Broadex Silicon R&D Centre in Shanghai is focused on the development of Silicon Photonics-based high-speed optical modules for the telecom and datacom markets. We are currently concentrating our efforts on the packaging of Silicon Photonics dies and engines into pluggable modules for 25G I-temp wireless application and 400G for datacenter applications. Our aim is to develop both superior performance and manufacturing friendly technologies that can meet volume expectations.” said Dr. Wei Zhu, CEO of Broadex Technologies.
