Broadex Technologies Showcases Cutting-Edge Optical Communication Products at CIOE 2024
On September 11, 2024, the 25th China International Optoelectronic Expo (CIOE) kicked off at the Shenzhen World Convention and Exhibition Center, with Broadex Technologies Co. Ltd., (stock code 300548. SZ) taking center stage. Broadex Technologies unveiled a range of innovative solutions, including data center active product solutions, green cabling solutions, integrated optical solutions, xPON fiber access solutions, and smart audio and video signal transmission solutions.
Data Center Active Product Solutions
Broadex Technologies' data center active product area showcased a comprehensive lineup of products, including silicon photonics, optical modules, AOCs, and copper cables. A key highlight was the dynamic demonstration of the 200G AOC product, featuring liquid-cooling technology that fully immerses the product in a specialized fluorinated solution to exhibit its high-performance capabilities.
Liquid-Cooled Optical Modules
Broadex introduced its 200G and 400G liquid-cooled optical modules. These newly-launched modules use a special coolant for rapid heat dissipation, ensuring stable operation and longer lifespan.
With an innovative sealing design that protects the optical path whilst surpassing the stringent reliability requirements, these modules are ideal for high-bandwidth, low-power applications in data centers and high-performance computing.
Green Cabling Solutions
In the green cabling section, Broadex introduced two standout products:
Hollow Core Jumpers: Featuring air-core optical fiber, these jumpers replace the traditional glass core with air, delivering lower latency, broader frequency bands, larger transmission capacity, and minimal non-linear effects. This breakthrough is expected to revolutionize optical fiber communication technology, especially for supercomputing, DCI, and submarine cable applications.
iCONEC® Openpel Series Optical Fiber Distribution Frame: Part of Broadex's comprehensive iCONEC® cabling brand, the Openpel series supports multiple configurations and is compatible with standard 19-inch cabinet installations. It is designed for flexible interconnection and cross-connection in data centers and indoor building cabling being compatible with 8-core modules (Base-8), 12-core modules (Base-12), 16-core modules (Base-16, Base-8) and 24-core modules (Base-12, Base-8), which can be switched arbitrarily.
Integrated Optical Solutions
Broadex Technologies continues to push the boundaries of optoelectronic integration with four self-developed platforms: planar optical waveguide (PLC), micro-optoelectromechanical systems (MEMS), silicon photonics, and high-speed module packaging. These platforms enable large-scale application of integrated optoelectronic devices.
xPON Fiber Access Solutions
Broadex's xPON optical modules on display include a full range of products from EPON and GPON to 10G and 50G PON. These modules are available in various form factors, including SFP, SFP+, DSFP, QSFP28, and QSFP-DD, supporting up to 50G three-mode, single-fiber, six-way data links.
Intelligent Audio and Video Signal Transmission Solutions
Broadex showcased a range of active optical cables, including HDMI, DP, USB, and Type C. These cables use YOFC’s specialized anti-bending optical fiber, supporting long-distance transmission of up to 100 meters with superior interference resistance and durability.
Collaborative Exhibitions
Broadex also collaborated with leading chip manufacturers to present pre-development samples of the 1.6T OSFP ACC and AEC, which feature cutting-edge technology, like in the case of 1.6T AEC that includes Marvell’s latest 224G Per lane AEC Retimer chip, presented at Marvell’s booth.
