Broadex ships over one million 10G ComboPON transceivers in 2021
Broadex Technologies (Shenzhen Stock Exchange: 300548) a leading provider of optoelectronic components to the telecom and datacom markets, today announced it has shipped over one million 10G ComboPON OLT transceivers to date in 2021, leading the China market in transitioning its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network from GPON to a 10G PON architecture.
Broadex Technologies’ innovative ComboPON transceiver technology was first to the market and has been adopted widely by telecom operators in China. It provides both 2.5G and 10G bit rates for upstream and downstream traffic and enables service providers to operate both GPON and 10G PON simultaneously over one optical network. As a result, operators can selectively upgrade their subscribers to 10G PON without disruption to existing service, opening the door to new bandwidth intensive markets such as the fast-growing video conferencing and online education, as well as continuing to support 5G mobile service and FTTH deployment.
"Broadex’s pioneering 10G ComboPON technology is currently leading the China market as it provides an ideal pathway to scale 10G PON services within both existing and greenfield networks.” said Dr.Wei Zhu, CEO of Broadex Technologies. "Looking ahead, we are already working with leading operators on new generations of PON products, including 25G PON and 50G PON OLT/ONU transceivers, which will further position Broadex Technologies as a powerhouse for PON transceivers."
